Our Story

Kootanla takes its name from the Yoruba phrase “Okuta Nla,” meaning “Big Solid Rock.” This symbolizes dependability, resilience, and transformation—a rock can sharpen, guide, and serve as a vital landmark. In Christian tradition, rocks have even provided life-sustaining resources during critical times, as experienced by the Israelites. At Kootanla, these qualities are reflected in the innovative solutions and dependable services we deliver to our clients.

Founded in January 2023, Kootanla started as a business and leadership consulting firm supporting individuals and small businesses. However, in Q4 2024, we shifted our strategy to focus on providing innovative solutions for people and players in the energy and utilities sector. Our mission is to drive meaningful, positive change in the world by solving real problems—one at a time—for people and organizations in the energy and utilities sector.
